Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher
By Virginia Blackburn
I WILL not be going to see The Iron Lady.
No matter how good Meryl Streep is, she is not a patch on the real thing. Moronic feminists constantly denigrate Margaret Thatcher for not doing more to help the sisterhood ? what rubbish.
Mrs T became prime minister when I was still at school, remained there throughout my university years and continued to dominate the country as I first made my way in the workplace. It came as a bit of a shock the fi rst time, as an adult, I heard the PM referred to as ?he?.
Think what you will of Maggie ? and I think she saved Britain ? but no one has ever said she did the right or wrong thing because she was a woman. It was her politics she was judged on, not her gender.
Every female in the world owes her. Including Meryl Streep.
